This Sofitel Alexandria Cecil is a six-storey Art Deco hotel built in 1929 and set overlooking the yachting harbour in Alexandria's business district, two kilometres from the Roman heritage sites. The best way to get from the airport to the hotel is by taxi. Taxis wait in the car park outside the terminal building. Fares to the city centre should cost approximately EGP 35 and take 15-25 minutes. Prices should be agreed before setting off. The best way to get around the city is on foot.
