Location.
The Sonesta St George Hotel occupies a seven-storey building on the east bank of the picturesque River Nile in Luxor, Egypt, 200 metres from Luxor Temple and Luxor Museum. The historic Valley of the Kings is within nine kilometres of the hotel, and Luxor Airport is 18 kilometres away.

Hotel Features.
The modern hotel, with its stucco facade and iron balconies, offers pampering treatments in the onsite health club. Guests can enjoy drinks beneath the palm trees by the outdoor swimming pool, and pamper themselves in the health club. The Sonesta St George also holds regular entertainment such as belly dancing shows, and offers excursions, sailing trips and camel safaris.

Guests at the Sonesta St George Hotel have three dining options. The buffet restaurant overlooks the Nile and swimming pool, as does the Italian Beban Restaurant. The Miyako restaurant serves Japanese food and is decorated with traditional tatami mats.


Guestrooms.
The hotel's 224 air- conditioned guestrooms, over seven floors, are decorated in bright colours, with rich fabrics and light oak furniture. All have balconies, overlooking the Nile or the city. Expert Tip.
The Valley of the Kings, nine kilometres from the hotel, contains the tombs of Ramesses the Great and of Tutankhamen, and is one of greatest discoveries of modern archaeology.

Getting there.
A frequent bus service runs from the airport to central Luxor, and the journey time is approximately 20 minutes. Taxis to the city centre cost approximately 50 EGP (10 EUR), and the fare should be negotiated prior to travelling. Many resorts and hotels provide airport transfers. Prices are all subject to change.


Getting around. Luxor is best explored by taxi, and taxis can be hired for the day or for individual journeys. Horse-drawn carriages (caleches) are ideal for shorter, leisurely journeys. Hop-on, hop- off microbuses run across fixed routes, and can be crowded. Sail boats (feluccas), ferries and motor boats frequently cross the Nile, running from Corniche to the West Bank.
