The Scandic Luosto is a log-cabin complex situated in the Luosto ski resort, 50 metres from the slopes and five kilometres from Lampivaara amethyst mine. This single-floor hotel features 59 guestrooms, 54 of which are traditional Scandinavian-style log cabins with open fires, saunas and kitchenettes. The remaining five are standard rooms. Skiers will find a fast- food restaurant, complete with sun terrace, situated at the lower station of the ski lift, and guests can take their own food to the igloo-shaped Nunnuka hut, or enjoy traditional food cooked on an open fire as part of a special themed evening. The hotel also offers a ski equipment rental service and a grocery shop. Those arriving by car will find a parking space for each log cabin and 20 parking spaces by the main building, and the hotel also features a caravan park with space for 140 motor homes. Scandic Luosto is located in the middle of the Luosto ski centre with its three ski lifts and seven slopes suitable for both families and more experienced skiers. The ski slopes and 95 kilometres of cross- country skiing tracks are situated 50-300 metres from the hotel. Fans of snowboarding have their own 'Snowboarding Street'. Guests can also enjoy the reindeer, husky-dog safaris, fishing and hiking in the nearby countryside. Lapphut Village is one kilometre away and Sodankylä heritage museum and church, which dates back to 1689, is 40 kilometres from the hotel. Rovaniemi Airport is 110 kilometres away, with an approximate driving time of 110 minutes.

Buses run from the airport to Luosto. Hire cars and taxis are also available from the airport. Rovaniemi Train Station is 110 kilometres from the hotel and the bus station is 40 kilometres away.
