Getting there.
A taxi is likely to be the quickest and easiest option, taking around five minutes to Domaine du Chateau.


Getting around. Domaine du Chateau is 3 kilometres from central La Rochelle. La Rochelle can be explored easily on foot. Visitors can also borrow a bicycle, available within the city free for two hours. These are yellow, and are left at bike racks throughout the city. Electric cars are an environmentally friendly way to explore the city. Available from Place Verdun, they can be hired by pay-per-use method. Boat trips run to the neighbouring islands of Aix and Re from the harbour. Direct trains run between La Rochelle and Bordeaux and Nantes (two hours) as well as Paris (three hours).
