Set on Brittany's Atlantic coast, the Residence Vacantel les Marines de St Michel complex is made up of rustic gîtes surrounded by gardens, 700 metres from the sea. The 200 holiday homes all have brightly painted shutters and extend to furnished garden areas. Saint Michel-Chef- Chef's beaches, 700 metres from the hotel, stretch for three kilometres between the headland of Saint Gildas and Saint Brévin. At the town of Saint Nazaire, 11 kilometres away across the Loire estuary, guests can visit the naval shipyards and explore the Espadon, the first submarine to dive beneath the ice caps of the North Pole. Those with an interest in the natural world will find hippos, bears and tigers at the Planete Sauvage safari park, 30 kilometres away. Nantes Atlantique Airport is 70 kilometres away, with an approximate driving time of one hour.

General Information: Reception is open 9 AM - Noon and 5 PM - 7 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; 8 AM - Noon and 4 PM - 8 PM on Saturdays; and 9 AM - Noon on Sundays. Reception is closed on Wednesdays. Guests intending to arrive outside these hours must contact the residence prior to arrival to schedule alternate check-in procedures. Shuttle-bus services connect the airport with Nantes city centre and the SNCF train station. Taxis are also available. The nearest train station to the resort is Pornic, 15 kilometres away; taxis are available at the station. Driving directions: From motorways via Le Mans, Angers and Nantes, drive round the outskirts of Nantes and follow signs for Noirmoutier/Nantes-Atlantique (Aéroport) via road D753, then follow signs for Pornic via road D751. Once at Pornic, at the first roundabout close to a McDonald's, follow signs for Pornic/Saint Michel Chef Chef/Saint Brévin and take the immediate right, following signs for Saint Nazaire. Continue for about ten kilometres on the carriageway and exit at St Michel-Chef- Chef. Once in Saint Michel-Chef-Chef, at the first roundabout, follow signs for Saint Michel. At the second roundabout, continue towards Complexe Sportif de la Viauderie. Continue straight on from the third roundabout, then turn right into the first road and pass the sports centre. The residence is located on the left, signposted Lagrange-Vacantel/Univers de France. Enter the grounds of the residence, continue for about 500 metres and take the fourth street on the right (rue Jacques Hamelin). The reception is located at number 190.
