A typical taxi fare from the airport to the hotel is 34 EUR. The best way to get around Crete is by rental car or bike, although buses go to most places throughout the island. The Cretan bus company KTEL has stations in all the larger cities and stops all along the routes. Many locations are also accessible by ferry and boat taxi. Taxis in Crete are reasonable but visitors should make sure the driver uses the meter. Driving directions: From the airport take the new National Road in the direction of Agios Nikolaos. Take the exit for Stalides (Stalis), and turn right then left at the traffic lights at the old National Road.
