Set against the verdant backdrop of Connemara's Twelve Bens and with views out over the Atlantic, the Abbeyglen Castle Hotel was built as a private house in the early 19th century by the founding father of the town of Clifden. A bus service runs between the airport and Galway city centre, taking about 15 minutes. From the centre, buses run to Clifden. Taxis are also available from the airport and cost around €100 to the hotel. From Galway, take the N59 to Clifden.
