Location.
The Hotel Costa Doria is located in outside of the ancient town of Castelsardo, on the island of Sardinia, Italy, 100 metres of the beach and three kilometres from the town's historic centre. Doria's castle and the St Antonio Abate cathedral are both three kilometres from the hotel.

Hotel Features.
The Costa Doria is a complex of pink-painted buildings set amidst the coastal rocks overlooking the bay. The hotel offers an outdoor pool, set amid gardens, with a sun deck and a separate children's pool. The hotel also houses a gift shop. Advice on Sardinia's historic sights and attractions is available at the 24-hour front desk. The hotel offers complimentary parking.

The Costa Doria offers three dining options. The main restaurant offers a varied buffet of international and local dishes during high season, while the Terrace restaurant serves pizza and Mediterranean dishes and extends onto an open-air dining area. The Rustic Tavern serves traditional Sardinian dishes and must be booked in advance. Most meals and drinks are complimentary for guests on the half-board rate plan. Guests not on the half-board rate plan will be charged for meals and drinks.

The hotel offers excursions to Stintino, Costa Smeralda, Arcipelago Maddalena and Alghero.

Expert Tip. The historic centre of Castelsardo is the most popular part of the town for visitors, but the Elephant Rock is also worth a visit. A prehistoric tomb shaped like an elephant by the weather, it's a unique and bizarre sight.

Getting there.
A bus runs from the airport to Castelsardo and Sassari, from where a bus runs to Castelsardo. The hotel offers airport transfers to and from the airport (surcharge).


Getting around. Castelsardo is small and can be explored on foot or by taxi. A car is recommended for travelling further afield.
