Location.
The Castello D'Urso Somma is located in Catania, on the island of Sicily, Italy, 250 metres from the beach and eight kilometres from Catania centre. It is 2.5 kilometres from Catania Fontanorossa Airport.

Hotel Features.
Housed in two annexes set around a castle, the Castello D'Usro Somma is a bed and breakfast property surrounded by beautiful gardens featuring palm trees and scented herbs. There is an outdoor, semi-Olympic swimming pool, a tennis court and games for children on request. There are beauty services at the hotel, and complimentary parking and laundry facilities are also offered.

Complimentary breakfast is served daily in the castle annexes. The Castello does not have a restaurant or bar, but there are plenty in the centre of Catania.

Getting there.
Bus number 501 runs from the airport to door of the B&B. Tickets are available from a booth in front of the terminal building and must be validated when boarding. Taxis cost 10-20 EUR to the hotel. Price subject to change.


Getting around.
The nearest train station to the hotel is Catania Central Train station, 8 kilometres away. An inexpensive rail network links Sicily's larger towns, including Palermo, Messina, Catania, Taormina, and Syracuse. Buses run throughout Catania, other Sicilian towns and many of the smaller villages. A car is recommended for exploring the less touristy areas.


Driving directions. Leave the airport and turn left at the first roundabout (with the red aeroplane). Continue in the direction of Lidi Playa/Viale Kennedy. Drive to the end of Viale Kennedy (about five kilometres in length) until a small roundabout. Turn to right and the property is the second gate on the right.
