Getting there.
Taxis to central Milan cost about 90 EUR. The Malpensa Express train runs every 30 minutes between the airport's train station and Cadorna station in central Milan, two kilometres from the Hotel d'Este. The nearest metro station is Porta Romana, 750 metres away. Single tickets are approximately 9 EUR, and journey time is 40 minutes. The Malpensa shuttle bus also runs to Stazione Centrale (central station) every 20 minutes. The fare is 4.50 EUR and journey time is 20 minutes. All prices subject to change.


Getting around. The city centre is easy to explore on foot, and there are pedestrianised areas around the Duomo. A comprehensive network of trams, buses and four metro lines offers efficient travel throughout the city. Integrated tickets for all modes of public transport can be purchased at newsagents, metro stations, tobacconists, and most coffee bars. Driving is not recommended in Milan's city centre. There are many one-way streets, traffic is heavy, and parking is limited. Cars parked illegally are towed or fined.
